While stress is an inevitable aspect of work and life, too much of it can harm team morale and productivity. How can you, as a company leader, de-stress your workers’ life so they can perform at their best? We’ve come up with a few options.
Importance of Work-Life Balance.
The ability of office stress to follow us home is one of the most pernicious impacts. Working long hours reduces the amount of time you spend with the people you care about. Plan time with friends and family instead of vegging out on the couch or in front of the TV. Purchase tickets to an event or rekindle an old activity, and plan your next vacation so you can look forward to more time and relaxation.
Sleep Well.
While we’re all guilty of staying up late on a school night, making a conscious effort to keep to a normal bedtime can help you get the quality sleep you need to deal with workplace stress. Going to bed with your mind still jumbled isn’t ideal for a good night’s sleep. Set an evening switch-off time after which you will not use your devices.
Don’t Work After Hours.
Unless your employment needs you to be on call at all times, just turn off or ignore your work email after hours. Establish limits for yourself and others, even at work. There’s nothing wrong with being explicit about when you’re working and when you’re not. Even at work, taking breaks is an important element of coping with work-related stress.
As a result, having a more positive attitude toward stress may not only assist you in dealing with it more efficiently, but it may also change your stress into something beneficial that benefits your performance, health, and personal development.
